At Montecatini, we are committed to walking with you through your entire healing process. If you have already completed residential treatment, or if you might benefit from a lower level of care, we can recommend our continuing care programming options, which include a partial hospitalization program and an intensive outpatient program.
Continuing Care Overview
Both of our continuing care programs are rooted in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and the 12 step philosophy. Adolescents girls ages 12-17 and women ages 18+, can benefit from these programs, which are located about 10 minutes away from our residential treatment program in beautiful and sunny Carlsbad, California.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our partial hospitalization program is designed for women who are either transitioning out of residential care or who do not require the 24-hour care that a residential program provides. Our PHP includes all-day treatment, Monday through Friday, with patients typically staying with us 30-90 days at this level of care. The PHP is comprised of the following interventions:
- Individual therapy with your primary therapist occurs once per week for adults and twice per week for adolescents.
- Family therapy is conducted once per week.
- Multiple groups take place daily, which can include:
- Interpersonal process group
- Nutritional sessions
- Menu planning and meal preparation
- Expressive art therapy
- Family Intensive Program
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Discharge planning
- Restaurant outings
- Nutrition education group
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Co-occurring group
- Yoga
- Spirituality group
- Relapse prevention
- Therapeutic gardening group
- Body image group
- ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders) groups twice per week
- Weekly experiential therapies and groups are part of our PHP and include the following:
- Clothes shopping
- Restaurant outings
- Beach trips
- Grocery shopping
- Challenge food outing
- Group dinner
- PHP patients manage their own medications on a daily basis, but have the option to meet with one of our physicians assistants or psychiatrists once per week for medication management services.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP is designed for women who are nearly ready to go back to living in their respective communities. The IOP includes many of the same interventions as our residential and PHP programs, including weekly individual therapy, family therapy, experiential therapy, and medication support. Additionally, our IOP includes group therapy opportunities, including:
- Interpersonal process group
- Relapse prevention
- DBT skills training
- Nutrition education
- Meal planning
- Art therapy
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Self-esteem
- Body image
- Yoga and Nia
- Spirituality
- Family Intensive Program
Our patients typically stay in the IOP program for 30-90 days, and you have a choice of coming to Montecatini in the early morning, mid-morning, early afternoon, or late afternoon, for four hours of treatment each day. Regardless of the time of day you choose to come for services, you will be provided with a meal and a group therapy session.
