Chelsea Doswell, APCC
Therapist
Chelsea graduated from Adams State University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling. She is dedicated to helping individuals understand their behaviors and move forward toward healthier, more fulfilling lives. Chelsea approaches mental health from a holistic, whole-person perspective, recognizing the profound influence that past experiences have on current well-being.
Passionate about integrating both cognitive and body-centered modalities in treatment, she focuses on both developing insight and fostering a deep connection between mind and body. Her work is deeply informed by her interest in the intricate relationship between homeostatic and affective emotions. Chelsea believes that many psychological challenges stem from difficulties in understanding, connecting with, and regulating these complex emotional experiences. This perspective has been enriched by her work with The Center for Nutritional Psychology, where she explored the concept and process of Interoception—the body’s sense of its internal state.
Her professional experience is concentrated on treating substance abuse and eating disorders, where she has found Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to be particularly effective. These evidence-based practices, coupled with her commitment to a comprehensive approach to health, allow Chelsea to support her clients in achieving meaningful and lasting change.
