Who We Are
Montecatini is a premier eating disorder treatment facility located in Carlsbad, California, dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care for individuals struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Established in 1991, Montecatini has grown from a single six-bed house to 5 facilities including 4 residential homes and one outpatient facility, reflecting our commitment to expanding access to high-quality treatment.
We specialize in treating female-identifying and nonbinary individuals, offering a safe and inclusive environment where all patients feel respected and supported. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals, including therapists, dietitians, medical staff, and exercise physiologists, works collaboratively to create personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. We believe in a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit, ensuring that every aspect of a patient’s well-being is considered in their recovery journey.
At Montecatini, we emphasize the importance of community and support. Our therapeutic environment is designed to foster a sense of safety and belonging, where patients can connect with peers who share similar experiences. This sense of community is integral to our philosophy, as it helps patients build the confidence and resilience needed to overcome their challenges.
Our facility provides residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care offering a range of evidence-based treatments, including individual and family therapy, dietary counseling, and wellness programs that incorporate movement and exercise. We also provide daily group sessions that focus on psychoeducation, skill-building, and processing, as well as educational support to ensure our younger patients keep up with their studies.
Montecatini is committed to the principle of providing the least restrictive environment possible while ensuring effective care. Our goal is to help patients regain control over their lives, promoting independence and self-efficacy. Family involvement is a cornerstone of our program, with regular family therapy sessions and educational resources to strengthen the support systems that are crucial for sustained recovery.
As we continue to grow and evolve, our dedication to excellence remains unwavering. We strive to provide the best possible care, informed by the latest research and best practices in the field of eating disorder treatment. Under new leadership, Montecatini is excited to expand our services to include an adolescent program uniquely designed to address the needs of patients aged 12 to 17.
Montecatini is more than just a treatment facility; it is a place of hope and healing where individuals can rebuild their lives and achieve lasting recovery.

In the interest of helping you maximize your ability to recover successfully, we provide a full range of step-down services including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming options.
